Henry VI, The First Part

Thought provoking rock songs permeate this dramatization of part one of Shakespeare’s trilogy that reenacts the historical 14th century battle for power between Britain and France after the death of King Henry V and succession to the throne of nine month old, Henry VI.

In the first part, Shakespeare recounts battles that led to France’s independence from Britain; the rise and fall of Joan La Pucelle (Joan of Arc); the divisive conflicts between the British nobles preceding the War of the Roses; and marriage of Henry VI to Margaret of Anjou, France.
